Greater Rockville Partnership
Names New Marketing Manager
Rockville, Maryland ( January 14, 2004 )The Greater Rockville
Partnership, an economic development organization for the City of
Rockville, Maryland, has recruited Daniel Hurtado as its new Marketing
Manager.
Hurtado previously served as Marketing and Media Relations Manager
for the Downtown Sacramento Partnership in California, where he
oversaw marketing and public relations programs for the capital
city's central business district. In his new position, Hurtado will
lead the organization's marketing strategy, which will attract and
retain businesses for Rockville while helping to reinforce the city
as home to some of the world's leading biotech companies.
"I am truly excited to join the Greater Rockville Partnership,
particularly with all the new projects underway and planned for
the city," Hurtado said. "The seeds have been planted for continued
growth and renewal for the city and I am honored to be a part of
that progress."
A graduate of the University of the Pacific with a B.A. in Communication,
Hurtado has worked in the field of marketing and public relations
beginning with The Rim Hotel Corporation, a Modesto, CA-based hotel
development company, followed by his position with the Downtown
Sacramento Partnership.
Hurtado joins the economic development group during a time of
positive change for both the organization and the City of Rockville.
The organization will adopt a new name in the coming weeks to better
reflect the group's objectives as well as the services it offers
to businesses, developers, and the public. The organization is also
redesigning its Web site, which is scheduled to launch later this
year.
The City of Rockville is also undergoing a renaissance with such
redevelopment projects as the Town Center, a mixed-use complex complete
with housing, retail, and entertainment opportunities in the city's
central business district.
"We are very pleased to have Daniel Hurtado as a member of our
staff and our community. He joins a diligent and respected team
of community and business leaders who are working hard for the betterment
of Rockville," said Sally Sternbach, Executive Director for the
Greater Rockville Partnership.
