Rockville Economic Development Announces Move to New Facility

Rockville, MD (July 23, 2004)—Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) has announced it has moved to a new office in Rockville’s Town Center.

The new address is: 95 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland, 20850.

The telephone and fax numbers for REDI will remain the same. The telephone number for REDI is (301) 315-8096. The fax number is (301) 315-8097.

The economic development agency’s new location coincides with the recent launch of its newly designed Web site, www.RockvilleREDI.org. The organization’s move to its new office in the heart of Rockville’s central business district, coupled with its new Web site, will further expand its presence among city residents and the local business community. The new location also places REDI in proximity to city government offices, the Rockville and Montgomery County Chambers of Commerce, and Montgomery County’s Department of Economic Development. The State of Maryland’s Department of Business and Economic Development will also be opening a regional office in Town Center near REDI’s new location in August 2004.

“Montgomery County and the State of Maryland have continued to work closely with Rockville toward our common mission of developing new business and stimulating economic growth for the region,” said Sally Sternbach, Executive Director for REDI. “We are honored to call them neighbors in every sense of the word. Our proximity to each other allows us to pool our resources even more effectively and, in turn, better serve the business community,” she said.

REDI’s move to the heart of Rockville’s central business district comes at the threshold of a succession of revitalization projects for Town Center. REDI plans to use its offices to help promote the new development in Town Center in addition to the overall marketing of Rockville.

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially introduce REDI’s new location to the community is planned for September and will act as a kick off to a series of open houses.
