Town Center Master Plan
The Mayor and Council's vision is to create a new
Town Center for Rockville that
will serve as the heart of our community. We see a central gathering
place that offers a combination of residential, office, retail, restaurants
and entertainment options.
Larry Giammo, Rockville City Mayor
In October 2001, the Mayor and Council unanimously approved the Rockville
Town Center Master Plan, which calls for the creation of a dynamic,
multiuse district in the heart of the city. The 460-acre planning
area includes key catalyst projects that will add to the development
of a mixed-use urban environment, incorporating human-scale buildings,
street-level retail, and pedestrian-friendly corridors.
Several completed redevelopment projects in the Town Center have
already spurred urban revitalization. Get
